Target Audience: Educators
DESCRIPTION: This brief "mini-course" is designed to be completed in 30-60 minutes. It will explore the overall function of using Gagne’s 9 instructional events as they may be used in a lecture, module or course. The learner will understand definitions and how each event may be applied in e-learning delivery formats.
OBJECTIVES Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- List Gagne's 9 instructional events
- Discuss how to apply Gagne's nine instructional events within an online module or unit
FACULTY
Bryan L. Gee, PhD, OTD, OTR/L, BCP
Dr. Gee holds degrees from Idaho State University (Ph.D. & MEd), University of St. Augustine (OTD), and D’Youville College (BS/MS). Dr. Gee currently is AOTA Board Certification in Pediatrics, is certified in the Sensory Integration Praxis Test, Level I, II, and III Certified the Sensory Processing Disorder Foundation, and URLEND alumni. Dr. Gee has published over 20 peer-reviewed research articles and more than 40 national presentations related to sensory-based interventions, therapy dosage and therapy-related practice patterns, and parent education/training and sensory processing. He has completed AOTA’s Academic Leadership Institute and held previous administrative and leadership appointments at Idaho State University. Additionally, Dr. Gee has held various volunteer positions with AOTA and NBCOT, and currently is an Associate Editor with the American Journal of Occupational Therapy and represents the state of Idaho within AOTA’s Representative Assembly.
