Systems Theory is widely known for its core attributes of information processing, adaptation to changed circumstances, self-organization, self-maintenance, and self-corrective feedback. This workshop will help participants have a greater understanding of Systems Theory and its clinical application.
This webinar is offered for 2 clock hours of synchronous attendance.
- Attendees will receive a primer in Systems Theory; the theoretical foundations and tenants of a systemic philosophical approach.
- Workshop participants will be provided with an overview of how to work with clients using a systemic approach, including clinical interventions congruent with Systems Theory.
Michael Negrette, M.A., LMFT
Michael Negrette is a Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice with 25 years of clinical experience, having worked with thousands of families and couples. He has presented at state and national conferences on topics such as sex therapy, post-modernism, and how therapists in private practice operationalize and integrate communication technology into their practices. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Mr. Negrette brings unique expertise to the counseling experience drawing on almost 25 years of working with individuals, couples, and families. Furthermore, he is a university professor and stays up to date with current theories, techniques, and research.
Mr. Negrette specializes in and has received comprehensive training in working with high conflict marriages who are often dealing with the most devastating problems such as infidelity, domestic violence, addiction, sexual dysfunction, and religious differences. He has extensive training in trauma, depression, anxiety, and OCD. He is a published author of articles in the area of sex therapy, postmodern therapies/research, and how technology is used in therapeutic settings.
